At this peaceful protest, we will:
🪧 Hold bold signs at one of Des Peres’ busiest intersections
🚗 Reach thousands of drivers, shoppers, and other passersby
🐑 Speak up for the sheep harmed in H&M’s wool supply chain
📣 Urge H&M to swap wool for plant-based alternatives
🤝 Connect with fellow activists and build community for the animals
Why?
1️⃣ Wool is cruel. A recent investigation into a “responsibly” certified wool operation linked to H&M’s supply chain found sheep sheared so roughly they were left with bloody, gaping wounds.
2️⃣ “Responsible wool” labels don’t protect sheep. H&M keeps hiding behind third-party certifications, even as investigations keep exposing abuse at certified operations.
3️⃣ H&M has already proven it can change. The retailer has left fur behind and, after a PETA campaign, committed in 2024 to stop selling virgin down. Wool is next.
Through this small, targeted ask, we can help remove wool from H&M’s shelves, ensuring its sweaters, coats, scarves, and other items are wool-free moving forward. Our demand? Swap wool for the innovative plant-based wools already on the market!
By inspiring H&M to ditch wool, we have the power to not only take a big step toward veganizing one of the world’s largest fashion retailers, but also set a new standard in the fashion industry that other brands can follow, triggering a ripple effect of change.
Pressure campaigns like this are highly winnable, generating wins that seem small but when multiplied by millions of products become massive. Countless sheep will be spared exploitation, injury, and death if this campaign and others like it succeed.
Better yet, we won’t be alone. PETA launched this international campaign in August with protests from Stockholm to London to Boston, and it has vowed to keep showing up at H&M stores across the country until the company drops wool.
And there’s no better day to do it. Black Friday is one of the biggest shopping days of the year, and holiday shoppers will see our message on their way into West County Center.
